Shaping the future of aviation training
A Global Community of Aviation Training Professionals
The International Association of Aviation Personnel Schools (IAAPS) brings together flight schools, training organisations, aviation academies, operators, and industry professionals who share a common goal: advancing excellence in aviation training. Since its foundation, IAAPS has served as a collaborative platform where members exchange knowledge, address common challenges, and contribute to the development of safer and more effective training practices worldwide.
ATPG
The Aircrew Training Policy Group (ATPG) is an independent network of aviation training experts representing airlines, Approved Training Organisations (ATOs), aircraft manufacturers, training device manufacturers, and industry specialists. Established more than a decade ago to facilitate dialogue between the aviation training community and EASA, ATPG focuses on identifying emerging training challenges and developing practical, forward-looking solutions. Over the years, the group has contributed to initiatives such as APS-MCC, enhanced MCC concepts, competency-based training developments, and other innovations that have influenced modern pilot training. Today, ATPG serves as the training think tank of IAAPS, providing expertise, analysis, and recommendations that help shape the future of aviation training worldwide.
IAAPS and EASA
IAAPS represents the aviation training sector within EASA’s Stakeholder Advisory Body (SAB), the formal framework through which industry organisations advise EASA on aviation safety priorities, regulatory development, and implementation challenges. Following the restructuring of the SAB, IAAPS plays an active role through the SAB Plenary, the Commercial Aviation Community, and training-focused Activity Groups, ensuring that the perspective of training organisations is considered in regulatory and strategic discussions. Through its participation, IAAPS contributes expertise on topics such as pilot licensing reform, instructor development, simulation training, competency-based training and assessment, and the modernisation of aviation training systems. By providing a collective voice for training organisations, IAAPS helps ensure that future regulations support both safety and innovation in aviation training.

Our Vision
Our vision is to be the leading global voice for aviation personnel training, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all sectors of aviation education. We strive to support a future where high-quality training is accessible, relevant, and responsive to the evolving needs of the aviation industry.
Our Mission
Our mission is to connect training organisations and professionals, promote best practices, support regulatory and industry dialogue, and facilitate the sharing of knowledge and expertise. Through collaboration and advocacy, IAAPS helps its members prepare the next generation of aviation personnel to the highest standards of safety, competence, and professionalism.
Our Values
We are guided by collaboration, professionalism, integrity, innovation, and a commitment to safety. These values underpin our work, strengthen our global network, and ensure that IAAPS remains a trusted forum for advancing aviation training excellence around the world.
